Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! I hope you all are thankful for something in your life! I know I sure am!

I'm thankful for having a loving God who is always on my side and watches over me throughout the darkest of times. He truly is an awesome God!

I'm thankful for an wonderful family. I'm blessed to have been born to a family that have raised me in the Christian way. They have helped shaped me into the person I am today. I know that no matter what happens, I can trust in the fact that I will always have a home with them. I love them so much!

I'm thankful for the love of my life, Christopher. I've never loved anymore more than I love him. He treats me with respect. He loves me for who I am. He doesn't get mad at me when I do the stupid stuff I do. He will do anything even stuff he hates just for the opportunity to be with me or to make me happy. He's a Christian who loves God just as much as I do. He's "the one." He's my BEST friend, my boyfriend, and I love him with all of my heart!

I'm thankful for my amazing friends. They keep me sane, and they are my cure to stress. I've had so many good times and memories with these people, and I'm looking forward to having more. I love them very much!

Happy Thanksgiving! Now, on to my favorite holiday, Christmas!

End of the Semester

I have only two more weeks of the fall 2009 semester. I have one week of classes and then the last week is finals. This is rediculous. Time flies by.

It seems not too long ago when this semester just started. Actually, this year flew by. It's going to be 2010 before you know it!

Unfortunately, along with the end of the semester comes a lot of due dates for assignments and papers. In fact, I had a term paper due today, and when I get home from work, I'll be finishing my third story that's due tomorrow.

It's a whole bunch of stress that is on me right now. I know I shouldn't let it get the best of me, but somehow I just can't help it.

Quite ironically, I'm writing my third story for JOUR 1010 on stress. It's coming along quite smoothly. It's too bad I can't put my personal feelings of stress in it. Maybe I would be feeling a lot better.

I think I'm going to try to make it to this "Stress Breakers" even that CAB is hosting at my school. I'm actually writing about that in my story. They are planning to have a massage chair. Yes, an actual massage chair. The best part about it is it's for free. As a college student, free just so happens to be my favorite word. Let's face it, who couldn't use a good free, five minute massage? I know I could!

Now, to the point of this seemingly pointless blog post. When you feel that the whole world has been pushed on top of your shoulders, and you feel like you're about to break, don't give up! There is a light to the end of the tunnel. You'll probably learn something from this experience and grow into a stronger person.

Don't procrastinate! I know I'm probably the last person to talk about this. However, as I do procrastinate quite often enough to know the bad side effects of doing it, I feel pretty sure that I am almost certified to discuss this subject. Anyway, some people are just that amazing at putting together papers, projects and assignments at the last minute. For the rest of us, we should probably start on things a lot sooner. The same could be said for studying tests. The longer you wait, the more stressed you will be. Also, if you break up assignments to different parts every night, you will be more relaxed.

Lastly, believe in yourself! You can do anything in the world if you have the right attitude and confidence in yourself. You are smart, and you CAN handle this.

College students, take a breath, relax and enjoy. The semester is almost over!

My Laptop

Today, my laptop decided to stop connecting to wireless networks for me anymore. In fact, every time I click on anything that has anything to do with connecting to a network, it either doesn't come up or it's just this empty white window that freezes on the screen. Also, if I try to go to control panel to fix this issue, it freezes too. It's safe to say it's time to get my laptop fixed.

Oh, and as if that's not enough, it takes forever to start up. Sometimes, it won't even start up at all. What in the world is wrong with my laptop?

Here's my blog for today: How do college students like me afford such emergencies? My laptop is important for school. I don't work enough hours because of school to pay to get a new one. How do we survive with what little money we have? We learn to save. That's right. I'm going to have to give up some of the things I love spending money on, so I can have this problem taken care of. It's something every college student must learn in their lifetime. Today, I'm starting to learn that lesson.

Until I can get it fixed, I'm going to have to learn to do without it. I'm going to have to share the family computer again. I'm going to have to come early to school to get on those computers.

I'm sure something positive will come out of this situation. Maybe I'll grown a little in the process. Just maybe. :)

I am so thankful...

I thank God every day for the amazing people I have in my life. My family is truly wonderful and loving, and they help shape who I am today. My boyfriend is the best boyfriend in the world for he loves me for who I am and accepts my faults because he loves me. My best friends are a blessing because no matter how much crap we might go through together, we still come out strong, and they love me even when I say or do stupid things.

In general, these people are loving, forgiving, and caring. They are best family, boyfriend, and best friends a girl could have. I'm very blessed. I know I do not deserve them, but they disagree.

Thank you, God. Thank you for blessing me with truly amazing people. I'm sure I could not make it through life without them.

:)

Okay, I'm going to be honest now.

Well, I guess I will not be updating as much as I said I would be. Truth is, I forget or I get way too busy. I'll try my best to update every day, but it won't always happen. I can already tell you that I won't be blogging tomorrow. I have too many things going on. Maybe on Monday I will find some time to blog.

Don't get me wrong though, I love to blog! I love writing! I just get busy! I'm sorry!

Whoops

I haven't updated since Thursday. I'm sorry, guys! I was busy visiting family this weekend and didn't have access to internet on my laptop until Saturday night. I came home last night. My point is I guess I won't be able to update every day like I had originally planned on. Tomorrow, I will start back with my blogging. I promise!

Pandora Radio

I'm sure everyone has heard of this popular internet radio. If you haven't, Pandora is online radio that provides music according to your interests and music tastes. You start it off by creating a radio station based on typing in one of your favorite musicals artists or favorite songs. It then gives you a radio with that artist or song and also plays artists and songs that are similar to the one you chose. You can save your radio stations by creating a free account with them. Yes, you can have more that one radio station.
It's interesting how popular this internet radio is. The only reason why I even checked it out was because I kept constantly hearing about it from my friends and seeing people on it.
Well, I thought I was only going there just to see what it was, but I ended getting caught in it as well. Yes, I have my own account consisting of five different radio stations currently on Pandora.
What makes Pandora so popular? That's the point of my blog today.
Well, first off, it's convenient. I mean for us constant internet users anyway. If you love music, and you have to do something for school on your laptop or maybe you're just killing time on Facebook, Pandora gives you music to listen to while you're doing it. In fact, I'm listening to Pandora right now as I'm writing this post.
Secondly, it gives you suggestions for other artists and songs based off what you are already interested in. I mean who doesn't want to learn about new artists and gain more favorite songs? I know I sure do!
Lastly, and most importantly, it's way better than regular radio. You pick what you want to hear. There's less commercials. You can skip songs you don't want to listen to (well, up to the certain limit per hour anyway). You can choose if you like the song or dislike the song. If you like, they'll make sure to play it again next time you listen. If you dislike it, they will never play it again.
For all these reasons, I mean who wouldn't love Pandora? I can even listen to songs from my favorite musicals. This makes me a VERY happy person.
I'm sure satisfied with Pandora, so I'll end this with a link to the web site in case you don't have an account with Pandora, and I have convinced you to at least check it out. I'll do this while listening to the time warp from Rocky Horror Picture Show..... :)
